We have created this page to answer the most common questions people have about how cats accepted into the Here Kitty Kitty Adoptions program.

Where do the cats at Here Kitty Kitty Adoptions come from?

Here Kitty Kitty Adoptions accepts both owner-surrendered and stray cats on a space-available basis. We will always take back a cat that was previously adopted from us.

Will HKKA accept feral cats?

Here Kitty Kitty Adoptions is an indoor facility and is not equipped to handle feral cats.

Will HKKA accept FIV+ cats?

No, unfortunately at this time HKKA is not able to provide separate housing for FIV positive cats.

What about FeLV+ Cats?

Unfortunately, we are not equipped to accept FeLV+ cats.

Who decides which cats are accepted?

Shelter management makes the decision based upon space availability and current residents.

Is there a fee to surrender a cat?

No, but it is appreciated if people can give us a donation.

How do I make a request for HKKA to take my cat(s)?

We accept requests by mail, email and by phone, but please remember that we can only accept a cats if we have the available space. It depends mainly on how many of our cats and kittens get adopted out each week.

You will be informed if we have available space or provided with other agencies that you can contact.

If we are able to accept your cat, an appointment will be made for you to surrender your cat.
